Why do industrial Applications Opt for Touch Screen Monitors?

When deciding to convert from a mouse click function to a touch screen monitor click function, there are usually a few reasons to put into consideration to see if it is a valid route to go.  When any application decides to go the touch screen monitor route, there is a pretty good reason why it was chosen over a mouse click.

A good example would be industrial applications such as a CNC machine, before there was the simple mouse connected to the PC, which worked perfectly fine, but as machinery got more advanced and complex with moving parts, there became a worry that a dangling mouse can interfere with the machine’s moving components or possibly disrupt the flow of work if the mouse accidentally clicked.  It started to become more viable to just create an all-in-one solution.  With an all-in-one touch screen monitor solution integrated into the final enclosure it helped to make the unit look more uniform and prevent accidents from occurring if the mouse slipped off the pad or the table that it was on.  With touch screen monitors integrated into any system it becomes much easier to control the entire unit and create more workspace for the unit as a whole.

Most industrial applications require things to work in the long run and although upfront costs might be a bit more expensive in the beginning, the trade off in the long term will definitely pay off.  Industrial digital signage applications might require a composite video touch screen monitor to accommodate the needs of various outputs for display.  CNC machines are starting to migrate over to 16:9 aspect ratio industrial monitor for daily use and widescreen displays in general.  Most importantly, industrial applications use touch screen monitors because it is much cleaner with less wires, to deal with, that can cause interference.
